Starting her career with Times FM in 1995 and then after a short stint in event management, Riya gravitated back to her first love, radio, in 2002. After 15 industry shaping years with Radio Mirchi in various leadership positions, Riya became an independent consultant in November 2014. She advises streaming platforms, apps & websites, radio stations, advertising agencies, production houses & corporate businesses in India & abroad on creating & curating content in the music & entertainment space. She is also a podcasting trainer, script & voice coach. Riya began this company in 2018 when she wrote & produced her short film The Disguise. In the same year her career also pivoted to Hindi lyric and dialogue writing when SS Rajamoulli gave her RRR to write. Since then Riya divides her time between the audio world which remains her first love, and the fascinating world of south Indian, or rather, Pan Indian cinema.
